What are the odds that a regular visit to the dentist would turn into a personal insight into your dentist's life and thoughts for the past 2 years?
The odds were against me, but it sure did happen yesterday.
It wasn't an earth-shattering experience, but it was a curious 45 minutes. She was different. She was more personal, more accessible. On her own accord. She wasn't guarded. She didn't put on her professional front. She didn't keep her dental mask across her face more than necessary. She mentioned her life; her past and new experience with her mother; her current attitute towards life. She was open about what she thought were her social flaws previously. She wasn't worried what I would think about this new revealation of hers, and neither was she concerned that she had other patients outside waiting. She had something to tell me and she was going to finish it.
It seem like she had other thoughts in her head, and she had other missions other than her usual profession. Something in her had changed, and it was her 'being' speaking out. She was letting her real 'being' take priority and she is choosing to be someone different.
Someone had changed her thinking and ultimately her life choices now.
And it felt like she was paying it forward.

Muted occurances in life often spoke out much more than my usual routine. It was certainly a very strange but thought-provoking happening.
Maybe someone is trying to tell me something.
And maybe one day I will have a message out there for others too.
